About Tamaki AI
Auckland-built.
Made for NZ businesses.
Two founders. One mission. Help NZ businesses stop losing customers to missed calls. Especially the ones whose customers don’t speak English first.
Our mission
No NZ business should lose a customer to a missed call.
We started Tamaki AI because we’ve lived both sides of a missed call. We’ve been the customer who hung up and went elsewhere. We’ve been the operator with both hands full and a phone ringing across the room.
AI receptionists existed before us. They sounded American. They didn’t speak the languages Auckland customers actually call for. They were template-built by tech companies who never knew a single salon, plumber, or takeaway by name.
We hand-build every Tamaki AI receptionist for the specific business. We speak Kiwi. We answer in Mandarin and Korean for the customers who need it. When our clients call us, we pick up the phone ourselves.
The founders
Two people. Real backgrounds. Honest work.

Tipasy Tim
Co-founder · AI Builder
Auckland · New Zealand
I’m a university student with a background in customer service and business operations. Customer service was my first real job. People called frustrated, confused, or in a rush. I learned how to be the calm voice on the other end.
Office work after that taught me what businesses need. Reliable systems. Clear communication. Someone picking up when customers reach out.
I started building AI because local New Zealand businesses kept losing customers to a phone no one could answer. Missed calls meant missed bookings. AI could close that gap.
Today I hand-build every Tamaki AI receptionist. No templates. Each one is tuned to the specific business: its voice, services, team, and customers. The goal is an AI that feels like a real part of the team, not a bolt-on.

Veasna Um
Co-founder · Operations & Customer Perspective
Auckland · New Zealand
I work in a factory. The kind of job where your hands are busy all day and your phone rings somewhere out of reach.
That’s the reality for most small business owners. Tradies under a house. Stylists halfway through a client. Kitchen staff during the lunch rush. The phone rings. You can’t answer. The customer moves on to the next business.
When Tim showed me what AI receptionists could do, I saw the fit straight away. Operators, owners, small business people who do the work themselves. The ones who need an extra pair of hands when the phone rings.
I keep us grounded. Tim builds the AI. I make sure what we ship solves problems for the businesses we serve.
We’re not Silicon Valley.
We’re Aotearoa.
We’re building for the people we live around.

Our values
What we won’t compromise on.
Customer-first, always
Every AI we build should make the caller feel heard, not processed. If our AI sounds robotic, we tune it again. And again.
Hand-built, not template
Tim writes every prompt, every knowledge base, every voice configuration. No copy-paste agencies. Each AI is a one-off.
Auckland is multilingual. So are we.
Mandarin, Korean, English from day one. Other languages on request. Your customer should never hang up because of a language barrier.
Earn the business every month
Month-to-month contracts. No lock-in. If we’re not helping you grow, you walk — no penalty, no friction.
Built here. Run here. Serving here.
We’re based in Auckland. Tim and Veasna live here. The phone you call when you need help is a Kiwi mobile. One of us answers it.
No outsourced support. No offshore developers. No Silicon Valley playbook. Two people in Auckland, helping NZ small businesses do what they already do well, better.
